The SS Hispania was a Swedish steamship built in 1912. It sank in the Sound of Mull in 1954 after running aground on a reef during a heavy storm. All but the Captain survived. All the crew lowered into life boats and spent an hour trying to persuade Captain Dahn to abandon his vessel. But he stayed and silently saluted his crew as the Hispania sank below the waves.

He holds the Guiness World Record for a SCUBA dive at 318.25 metres. It took 14 minutes for the descent and the total dive was 12 hours and 20 minutes

Stevie Hamilton from SSAC Stirling Branch in July 2007. Stevie is a work colleague of mine and a great guy. I got the video from him and edited it for the DiversInc Youtube site. I love this video. The marine life is excellent. Re the Jolande wreck, there isn't much left other than it's cargo of toilet seats! Which still have their uses I suppose!
Joe J from SSAC, Coatbridge Branch on the wreck of the Thistlegorm, Red Sea, July 2007. The Thistlegorm is a must for any competent diver who goes to the Red Sea. I?ve been to the Red Sea diving 3 times now and I?m going again in January 2009, so hopefully I?ll have enough time to do it again.
